Deceiving Time is the debut solo photography exhibition by filmmaker Ahmad Abdalla. at Tintera Gallery / Cairo. Sifting through a decade-long archive of analogue and digital frames captured between 2010 and 2021, the project explores the concept of zaman (time), its impermanence, and the subjective way we reconstruct memories.
By digitally layering disregarded photographs, Abdalla builds multi-exposure prints dense with line and movement—evoking a textured, auditive sense of sound. Referencing both long-exposure and historical chronophotography, the work ultimately questions the arbitrary boundaries of the photographic frame and investigates what gets left outside a captured memory.
يُمثّل معرض "خداع الوقت" المعرض الفردي الأول للمخرج والمصور أحمد عبد الله جاليري تنتيرا في القاهرة. ومن خلال البحث في أرشيفه الممتد لعشر سنوات بين عامي ٢٠١٠ و٢٠٢١، يستكشف المشروع مفهوم "الزمن" وزواله، والطريقة الذاتية التي نعيد بها بناء ذكرياتنا.
عبر دمج طبقات رقمية لصور فوتوغرافية مُستبعدة، يصنع عبد الله مطبوعات متعددة التعريض تتشابك فيها الخطوط والحركة، مما يمنح الكادر إحساساً صوتياً ملموساً. وبإشارات بصرية واضحة للتصوير طويل التعريض وتكنيك "الكرونوفوتوغرافي" التاريخي، يتساءل العمل عن الحدود العشوائية للإطار الفوتوغرافي، مستكشفاً كل ما يسقط خارج حدود الذاكرة التي نختار توثيقها.
